But the Ship Can't Sink

It did sink, the Titanic.

You know the story. You've heard the myths, and you may have seen James Cameron's movie about the ship which couldn't sink.

"Titanic" - the movie from 1997 starring Leo and Kate - received 11 Academy Awards, one for Best Picture.

The movie lasted more than three hours. Why did it take James Cameron so long to show the sinking of an unsinkable ship?

With a little editing the movie is shortened down to a more reasonable length. Take a look at the five second (not including the title) version of "Titanic":
